Carbon Moulds for Glass

With over 30 years experience of manufacturing carbon moulds for illuminating glassware, we are the people to talk to. In that time, we have produced a wide variety of moulds and have pattern books and full scale drawings of hundreds of different shapes and sizes that range from:

old gas lamps shades
art deco
hanging bowls
to present day designs.

We have available a large number of second hand carbon moulds, please call for details.

Moulds are made in carbon, but can be made in wood for smaller quantities. We will advise you on the appropriate approach.

Turned moulds are produced for traditional hand blowing and for for hand gathered presswork. This is a skilled task that requires design flare and engineering machinery that we have available to us.

Hand carved moulds are available for ornate designs such as paperweights with an raised image profile, or for blowing any glass object with a specific profile.

Moulds can be made to your own design, either as a turned carbon mould or by carving or a combination or techniques. Whatever your project, bring along a sketch, idea or picture and we will turn it into a design that will work.

Moulds can be made where we bolt together blocks of carbon that a re pre-shaped either by turning or carving.

With our engineering expertise, we make tools for shaping glass, crimps, optics and cane moulds, in fact anything related to glass making.
